2010 Featherlite Testimonials

That Featherlite rocks! Was making two finger waterstarts, floating my aerials and generally sailing with supreme confidence. This day at the Cape was so gusty and weird most the crew didn't sail or quit after a short sesh. Yet the sail's massive range had me smiling the whole time. I was immune to the gusts and stood through the lulls. I love it when just getting on something new instantly makes me a better sailor.

BTW, loving those f'n lites! Kudos to all

I had a couple sessions on the 4.2 Feather light and loved it ! What surprised me the most was its ability to keep accelerating beyond top speed and yet keeping totally balanced. No spongy feel, or moving draft -- just a very predictable pull. Good job guys, it's a winner. I can't wait for the next windy day.
- Marc
PS: I wish I had a 4.7 Feather light.

I just spent my third day with the new Feather Light sails. Just when I thought you could not improve upon the ZX sails here comes the Featherlight!!!! There is so much extra low end power to these sails and on top of that the weight. I thought the weight would not be noticeable BUT it is. This weight savings and the gobs of low end power make these sail rock. Now its not an improved ZX sail, so don't tell people this, its more like comparing strawberries vs. raspberries, one is not better that the other, just two completely different sails. If someone is looking for the Porsche of windsurfing sails, with mass amounts of low end power, lightest feel and fast, fast, fast, the new Featherlight's are the ones. Thank you for making my windsurfing so much more enjoyable.

Hi Northwave,
Thanks for the 5.2 featherlite demo. I was surprised by how light and easy to manouver it was; felt more like a 4.2 in weight and ease of handling. I'm really a high-wind 3.7-2.5 junkie and don't usually enjoy 5.2 sailing in the Gorge, but found myself searching for "just one more wave to slash with the featherlite". I'd intended a quick 10 or 15 min. demo session and ended up sailing for almost an hour. Very enjoyable!

The featherlite is "THE LIGHTEST" sail I have ever used. It is also very powerful!! I rigged the 4.2 with a larger pocket (thinking that I needed more for my fat ass) and it was extremely powerful. I think I'll rig it normal for normal/very powerful, and use more outhaul to reduce power. I don't see the need to "bag out the sail" to maximize it's power. -Aaron
- yeah that's a killer, light-in-the-hands sail! feels smooth and very controllable, easy to trim in the gusts obviously due to the weight/ balance. You guys have hit it out of the park again! Seems to have great handling in the higher ranges

Hey Chris,
Finally sailed the 3.7 Featherlite at the Wall today..Best 3.7 I have ever sailed...Super smooth, rotates effortlessly, and is very stable..even when overpowered!
- Skip

Love... Love... the Featherlite!!! Seriously, can I keep the 4.7 demo sail?
Make me a 5.7 and I'll upgrade my '09! What's not to love
- Bob

….had my wife try a 4.2 Featherlite about a month ago and she came in and said " it was cheating." Then I had to try them. I thought the power was good, similar to the ZX but the biggest difference to me was how they handle in the jibe. The reduced weight made it much easier to make a correction during the turn. I also thought they rotate a little smoother. All in all, I loved them. I can certainly see a gorge quiver in our future.
