I just spent my third day with
the new Feather Light sails. Just when I thought you could not improve
upon the ZX sails here comes the Featherlight!!!! There is so much extra
low end power to these sails and on top of that the weight. I thought
the weight would not be noticeable BUT it is. This weight savings and
the gobs of low end power make these sail rock. Now its not an improved
ZX sail, so don't tell people this, its more like comparing strawberries
vs. raspberries, one is not better that the other, just two completely
different sails. If someone is looking for the Porsche of windsurfing
sails, with mass amounts of low end power, lightest feel and fast, fast,
fast, the new Featherlight's are the ones. Thank you for making my windsurfing
so much more enjoyable. Hi Northwave, The featherlite is "THE LIGHTEST"
sail I have ever used. It is also very powerful!! I rigged the 4.2 with
a larger pocket (thinking that I needed more for my fat ass) and it
was extremely powerful. I think I'll rig it normal for normal/very powerful,
and use more outhaul to reduce power. I don't see the need to "bag
out the sail" to maximize it's power. -Aaron Hey Chris, Love... Love... the Featherlite!!!
Seriously, can I keep the 4.7 demo sail? ….had my wife try a 4.2 Featherlite
about a month ago and she came in and said " it was cheating."
Then I had to try them. I thought the power was good, similar to the
ZX but the biggest difference to me was how they handle in the jibe.
The reduced weight made it much easier to make a correction during the
turn. I also thought they rotate a little smoother. All in all, I loved
them. I can certainly see a gorge quiver in our future.
